Dubai Airport Metro

A metro ride from DXB Airport to Dubai city centre takes around 25 minutes.

Service hours: From Saturday to Wednesday: From 05:00am to 00:00am, Thursday from 05:00am to 01:00am, Sunday from 08:00am to 00:00am.

Frequency: Every 4-7 minutes in both directions according to the time of the day.

There’s no service on Friday mornings.

Metro lines

There are two Metro lines: The Red line and the Green line:

Red line

Red Line gets to Burj Khalifa / Dubai Mall Metro Station within 23 minutes from Terminal 1 and within 25 minutes from Terminal 3.

Stops at: Rashidiya, Emirates Headquarters, Airport Terminal 3, Airport Terminal 1, GGICO, Deira City Centre, Al Rigga, Union Square, Khalid Bin Al Waleed, Al Karama, Al Jaffliya, World Trade Centre, Emirates Towers, Financial Centre, Burj Khalifa/Dubai Mall, Business Bay, Noor Islamic Bank, First Gulf Bank, Mall of the Emirates, Sharaf DG Station, Dubai Internet city, Nakheel, Dubai Marina, Jumeirah Lake Towers, Nakheel Harbour and Towers, Ibn Battuta, Energy, Jebel Ali Industrial, Jafza/ Limitless.

Please note that there’s a connection to the Green Line at Union Metro Station and also Bur Juman Metro Station.

Green line

Stops at: Etisalat, Al Qusais, Airport Free zone, Al Nahda, Al Rashid, Stadium, Al Qiyadah, Abu Hail, Salahuddin, Union Square, Baniyas Square, Palm Deira, Al Ras, Al Ghubaiba, Saeediya, Khalid Bin Al Waleed, Oud Metha, Dubai Health Care city, Al Jaddaf and Creek. 

*During Ramadan: Saturday – Thursday (6:00h to 00:00h), Friday (14:00h to 00:00h).

Location

At Dubai Airport there are metro stations at Terminal 1 and Terminal 3.

Fares

Children up to 5 years travel for free, and discounts are only available for residents.

Dubai Metro system works very well with the called “Nol Card”, a contactless smart card which adapts to every passenger’s need (cash is not accepted).

Cards need to be purchased before the trip.

Tickets

There are the following ticket options:

Red tickets

Including up to 10 trips or 5 daily passes (ideal if you are visiting the city for a few days). The red card costs 2 AED, and it is valid for 90 days and it can be purchased in any ticket office or at ticket vending machine.

Silver Nol Card

Comfortable option both for tourists and residents. The card costs 25 AED (includes 19 AED trip credit), it is valid for 5 years and it can be purchased in any ticket office or at ticket vending machine.

Gold Nol Card

For residents and tourists who wish to travel in Gold Class trains, with more comfortable seats and more legroom, and of course less crowded than the standard class carriages. The card costs 25 AED (includes 19 AED trip credit), it is valid for 5 years and it can be purchased in any ticket office or at ticket vending machine.

Blue Nol Card

It is a personalised card only for residents, frequent travellers wishing to travel in Standard Class carriages. The card costs 70 AED (includes 20 AED trip credit), it is valid for 5 years and it can be purchased in any ticket office or at ticket vending machine. It is required an Identity Card, issues by Emirates Identity Authority + photo.
